Happy Holidays from SHAKESPEARE AT WINEDALE!
|
Thank you to everyone who made our 55th Anniversary Season so special! We're excited to be kicking off our 56th year with this newsletter. Below, you'll find information about our Outreach program, Camp Shakespeare, Actors from the London Stage, and all of this season's plays (and links to get your tickets!)
This year's performance season is thematically focused on history. Our spring class will perform The Winter's Tale, a play that famously moves forward sixteen years and explores how our personal histories affect our lives. This summer, our
Henry IV Part 1 continues on from last season's Richard II to think about political history, our
Romeo and Juliet will be used to explore legacies of the American Civil War in Texas, and finally a specially adapted
Love's Labor's Lost will be set in Winedale in 1976 and will celebrate the history of Shakespeare at Winedale.
From all of us on the Shakespeare at Winedale team, we wish you and your loved ones a happy holiday season!

Fridays through Sundays, July 18 - August 9 at Winedale

Catch Henry IV Part I, Shakespeare's most lovable history play, featuring Falstaff, Hal, Hotspur, and Henry, too. Or perhaps you're more inclined towards
Romeo and Juliet, the classic tale of teen love, and how civil blood makes civil hands unclean. Or maybe you'd prefer an exciting adaptation of Love's Labor's Lost: It's 1976, and four UT students show up at Winedale planning to focus on Shakespeare, not love. Find out what happens next!
Better yet, see all three!
We're excited to be introducing new ticket offerings for this summer, including an all-access VIP Pass and a
See All Three and Save punchcard, in addition to our standard tickets. The first three Sunday evening performances will have pay-what-you-can tickets, as part of our continued commitment to making Shakespeare accessible.
Before the Summer Class Evening performances, join us in the Barn for live music and entertainment, and to save your seat for the performance! Please note that reservation cards will not be laid out in advance by our team this year, but the cards will be available for you to reserve your seat up to two hours in advance of the performance. We are making this change to make Shakespeare at Winedale more accessible to newcomers to our community AND to make sure everyone has a chance to choose their seat! Please let us know if you have an accommodation - as always, we will be happy to honor requests for hearing, vision, or mobility related access needs.
We're also inaugurating a new Winedale tradition: Preview Night! On August 8th, join us for a sneak preview of the 2027 Season.
