Student Activities Conferences
There are two Student Activities Conferences remaining. If you are in the central Texas or South Texas/Valley area, we hope you are making plans to attend. The conference at UT Austin will be held Oct. 29 and at UT Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg on Nov. 5. Conferences are free, no registration is required, and there are sessions for students and coaches covering every UIL academic event. 

District Academic Meet Directors
District academic meet directors are posted on the UIL website. If you do not know the dates, location and schedule for your spring academic meet, please contact your meet director. If your academic meet director is missing and you know who your director is, please let us know. Please note district academic meets may be held March 20-25 only. District spring speech events can be held March 20-April 1.

Regional Academic Meets
Information regarding dates and locations of region meets will be posted at this site when the information is provided to UIL. Schedules should be posted in December and handbooks by February.

Spring Meet Online Entry System
We are excited to announce the transition to a new entry system starting with the district spring academic meet in March. We will send more information in December. We will post updated coordinator and meet director manuals with instructions. This will involve only the 22 district spring meet events held in March. We will add One-Act Play, CX debate, Congress and other activities the following year.

Invitational Meets
A list of Academic Invitational Meets and Tournaments, with registration and contact information for the host, is posted on the Invitational Meet webpage. UIL prepares two sets of tests materials that may be purchased by schools hosting  a meet during the dates listed on the UIL calendar. Deadline for ordering Set A is Dec. 1.

Registration for the Centex Invitational Meet is now open.  Read our flyer for more information. 

Interscholastic League Press Conference
ILPC membership is open for the current school year. Visit our web page for more information about conventions, contests and resources available through ILPC. The deadline for yearbook entries is Dec. 1.

Speech, Debate, Congress
Deadline for debate coaches to submit their ballot for the CX Debate topic for next season is Friday, October 14. 

District Meet officials should submit their CX Debate District Information Form by November 1. It can be submitted by either the Spring Meet Director or the person in charge of running the CX Debate district meet. This form provides the State Office with critical information on when the meet will be held and where materials need to be shipped. If your district will not be hosting a meet, email Jana Riggins

All speech and debate coaches need to register as a 2022—23 Speech Coach in order to receive critical information, deadline reminders and contest updates/clarifications throughout the season. Registration occurs annually. If you have not yet registered for this school year, register toda y!

One Act Play Important Update
For new rules and changes to the Handbook visit the link on Theatre web page. If you have questions, call 512-471-4517 or email the theatre department.

Theatrical Design and Young Filmmakers Contest
Intent to Participate form is open. The form does not obligate your school to participate but allows are office to plan for judging. Please visit the contest pages for updates on FILM categories, the Theatrical Design prompt and other useful information.

Play Approval for 2022-2023
See LINK to review changes to the play approval process. Before assuming your desired play is on the UIL Approved list of long and short plays list, please check LIST first. Some popular titles- The 39 Steps (long version), The Shadow Box and The Insanity of Mary Girard have been removed from the list by publisher request.

Q: Where is the enrollment link for junior high OAP?
A: There is no online enrollment for A+/Middle school/Junior high contests.

  • Aug. 31 – BI-DISTRICT INFORMATION We are still missing several meets. If your contest information is missing, contact your Bi-District representative.
