State Academic Meet
Thanks to all the state academic meet participants and coaches. It was good to be back and doing our thing. We could not make it through the meet without all the volunteers judging, grading or assisting in countless ways. Overall Academic Sweepstakes Championship trophies will be shipped following Speech State Meet the last week of May.

Planning for Next Year
It is never too early to have planning meetings to set dates and locations for next year’s contests. With new classifications and alignments, be the coordinator to take the initiative to start planning. Please review the 2022-2023 UIL Tentative Calendar for dates. It is important that academic coordinators, theatre directors and speech coaches coordinate so events do not conflict, particularly at the district/area OAP levels. Note that the state meet dates for academics, one-act play and speech are all tentative. It is highly likely that those dates will change from where they are currently posted to avoid testing conflicts and facilities needs.

ILPC will hold an in-person, intensive Summer Journalism Workshop at the University of Texas June 17-19. We will have classes in — UIL prep, yearbook, newspaper, digital media, photojournalism and more. For more information, click here. To register, click here. Classes are filling, so register soon!
