The community gathered in Williamson County Wednesday evening to celebrate the grand opening of the new Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus.

The four-story hospital totals more than 187,000 square feet and includes 36 patient beds, emergency and trauma services, two operating rooms, endoscopy and procedure rooms, sleep labs and shelled space for future growth.

Mayor Kirk Watson spoke at the ceremony, as well as Dell Children’s officials and County Judge Bill Gravell.

After Bishop Vazquez blessed the hospital doors, everyone filed inside to explore the state-of-the-art facility.

“At Dell Children’s Medical Center North, we are so grateful to be able to partner with our community to be able to open this facility,” Cathy Heckenlively, Chief Medical Officer at Dell Children’s Medical Center North Campus, said.

The facility is located at 9010 North Lake Creek Parkway and will open to patients on April 27.

“[I am] most excited for this new facility to be able to deliver that care to families in an efficient way. As the father of two daughters, I know that one of the barriers to getting proper medical care is the distance you have to travel and the inconvenience that may incur. So, the fact that we can be here for these families is the number one thing we’re proud of.”
