UIL Academics At-Home Experience

The last few weeks have pushed us into new ways of teaching, learning and living. We are disappointed that our competitions were interrupted so abruptly, but we are ready to support you in every way possible—whether that be in your distance teaching and learning role or keeping your students motivated with fun competition ideas.

Join us for the UIL Academics At-Home Experience. Participation is voluntary. This is not an official competition and will not lead to official awards or points. The goal is to provide your students an opportunity to test their knowledge and skills in our contest events that are aligned with their courses of study.

UIL will provide electronic access to the materials with guidelines and suggestions for coaches to administer events through whatever platform works best for your school community. Creativity and trust are key components to make this At-Home Experience meaningful. To facilitate the needs of different types of events, we are working with four general categories: Objectively Scored Events, Speech & Debate Events, Journalism Events & Ready Writing.
